What a freaking depressing book. I won’t be reading any of her other works.
Why spend the entire book beating this girl down, only to have her work her butt off making a good life for herself, despite every horrific thing she’s been through, just to kill her off for no reason whatsoever at the end in a ridiculous Romeo & Juliet-type suicide. 2 stars because I didn’t DNF, but I wish I had. There is nothing redeeming about this book. It was just a total downer from the first page to the last, like the author just enjoyed writing sexual abuse and rape scenes and stitched them all together and called it a book.

Living in a life of abuse
This book has some serious depth in reality as it relates to abuse. This girl goes from a childhood of abuse from her family to friends that use and abuse her too. In the end she tries to make a better life for herself and others but her past creeps back up. She is reminded just how difficult life was for her when she was thrown back into it. The ending has a interesting plot twist.
