A quick creepy story perfect to read alone on a dark night. I want to know the secrets of that scary apartment, what went on there before Richard moved in and what happened to that poor cat.

This was a very engaging and quick read. It definitely did not go in the direction I'd anticipated which I am grateful for. It is a very haunting short story that has left me with some questions and makes me wonder whether we will get more in the future on this particular apartment and what other secrets lie in the walls.

What an excellent short story and thriller What Secrets The Walls Keep is by Rachel Graham.
Richard is excited at finally buying and moving in to his new apartment, it's all his.
He arrives opens the front door to a foul stench that catches his breath, he opens all the windows to the fresh air. He draws out his plans for renovations. On the first he investigates strange scratching sounds coming out the walls, is it mice or rats?
After a couple of nights he discovers a a cat none of the bedrooms, how did it get in and where did it come from?
This is an amazing mystery thriller by Rachel.
A fantastic read.

Updated my review since I found the Beta feedback button.
This is clearly a short story that will be a part of an anthology. After reading this short story, I am interested in reading the entire anthology since it is going to be following a common theme.
This story was engaging, it kept my attention well enough that I was able to tune everyone and everything out while reading it. To me this says a lot since the slightest noises can and will distract me. I love the theme of the story and actually would be interested in reading a full novella/novel of a similiar situation. This particular story was based in NYC and inside the apartment the MC bought he found that there was a room that was covered in symbols most likely drawn on with blood as well as a hole in the wall big enough for a human to fall down into between the walls and floors of the other apartments where the MC ended trapped. As a true crime junkie, I am now wondering how often this has happened in the big apple let alone any other major city across the world.
To say the least this short story was definitely good. As a beta read, it has some errors that needed to be fixed before publication but that is as expected for any book in the beta stage. I personally feel like it was a lot less errors than some books I have read prior in this stage which says to me that the author works extremely hard to make sure their content is self-edited before other eyes see it.
I will be looking into Rachel Graham other books because I enjoyed her writing style and would love to read a longer length story to get a better feel for her books, her creativity, and her writing style.

Gripping and haunting. I did not want the book to end. Rachel has a way with words.
