Beyond the Grave by Tina S Transformation
First things first: thank you for trusting me with an advanced copy of this short story. Truly. I don’t take that lightly. This isn’t just a “thanks for the ARC” kind of read—this one lands, sits with you, and then quietly rearranges some things inside your chest.
Now let’s be clear upfront: this is not for everyone. This story does not sugarcoat, soften edges, or hold your hand while whispering reassuring lies. If you’re in a dark place—whether it looks like the one described here or wears a different mask—you might want to check in with yourself before reading. Not everything needs to be pushed through. Sometimes self-preservation is the bravest option. Shocking, I know.
For me, this was a six-minute emotional rollercoaster. Short. Brutal. No time to brace. I felt every single word. And even though I don’t personally relate to a large part of the situation, it still hit disturbingly close to home. Raw. Emotional. Painfully honest. The kind of honest that doesn’t ask whether you’re comfortable before showing up.
What really stuck with me is the reminder that choosing yourself—finding your own escape—is not giving up. It doesn’t make you weak. It means feeling trapped. Caught. Scared. Isolated. It means your thoughts slowly convince you there’s only one way out, because when you’re stuck in that headspace, options disappear. Not because they’re gone, but because you can no longer see them.
This quote wrecked me more than I expected and needed a moment to fully sink in:
“I wonder when I started sounding calm while describing things that are slowly destroying me.”
Yeah. That one lingers. Because if you know, you know.
So yes—five stars. Painfully honest. Not everything ends the way people want it to, or the way we’re taught it should. And when a short story manages to cut this deep using only a handful of pages, that’s not accidental. That’s skill. And courage.
Another line that deserves to be felt, not just read:
“Silence was no longer an absence. It became the most important action in my life.”
For anyone who recognizes themselves in that sentence—I hope, sincerely, that one day this changes for you.
One last personal note, because it matters: whatever you’re carrying, the odds that you’re meant to carry it alone are very slim. Feeling lonely doesn’t mean you are alone—even when it feels convincing as hell. There are ways out. There are hands you haven’t seen yet. And sometimes, choosing yourself is the beginning, not the end.

“Beyond the Grave” by Tina S. Transformation is a dark, emotional short story that doesn’t shy away from difficult truths. It follows an abused woman as she struggles to break free from her abuser, capturing the fear, pain, and inner conflict that make leaving so incredibly hard.
Despite its short length, this story packs a powerful punch. The author delivers an intense, haunting portrayal of survival and resilience, making the reader feel the weight of every choice and consequence. It’s raw, unsettling, and deeply moving.
A tough but meaningful read, Beyond the Grave is a reminder of the strength it takes to survive.
