When the Mares Skinner escapes prison transport, Shal Syrak and Harlynn find themselves ushered from their lifelong home of Mares, New York, and into the quaint mountainside town of Eerie Point, Colorado. When settled into her new life and identity, Shal is appointed lead investigator of a string of murders and disappearances that are leading to civil unrest in the sleepy retirement community. Deficient evident and incomplete notes of those who came before her lead down a winding road, perched between a possible cover up and the daunting possibility that it could be her past coming back to haunt her.
