This was a jaw dropping, mind-bending book that was filled with intriguing suspense throughout. The story begins at the scene of a bad car accident that has just occurred and before anything else can be determined, the book jumps back ten months to Part 1 and we are introduced to a newlywed couple, Oliver and Ellen, who are struggling to have a baby. The plot was interesting and intriguing and kept me reading. The writing was fabulous as always with short chapters that packed a punch with every word. But the twists were the best part of all because they kept coming, one after another and kept the book exciting! The characters were fabulous to read and learn about and their development was spot on! You really feel for the characters through Maria’s writing and at times I feel their tension as if it’s my own. This adds to the quality of her books so much and is one of the reasons that I am so drawn to this author’s books. I had my doubts about one of the main characters but even my thriller-reader mind couldn’t compete with the deliciousness that this author cooked up! Pick up a copy for yourself- you will not be disappointed! A 5 star read! Thanks to Maria Frankland for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow, Maria!! This book was absolutely amazing!! I could not put it down!
If you've read other books by Maria, you know she doesn’t just write suspense—she weaves it, tangling you in the characters’ dilemmas until you feel as trapped as they do. Every decision, every moment, had me teetering between “oh no” and “what now?” This book isn’t just about the twists, it's also about the emotional weight of those choices—the way they pull at you, make you reconsider everything you thought was right and fair.
This book has completely captivated me—it’s hands down one of my *absolute* favorites lately! I might not be yelling it from the rooftops (yet), but seriously, you NEED to read it. Just a fair warning: once you dive in, there’s no turning back!
