Leah, after losing her job as a journalist and damaging her reputation, runs into an old friend Emmy that she hasn’t seen in eight years. Emmy convinces her to move to western PA for a fresh start. Leah becomes a teacher but then a woman is discovered murdered who resembles Leah and only a few days later, Emmy disappears. Leah develops a relationship with Kyle Donovan, the lead detective in the murdered victim’s case who is also looking into the disappearance of Emmy. But it appears that Emmy is a ghost because no one other than Leah, has ever seen Emmy and there are no traces of Emmy anywhere other than her clothes. No paperwork, no ID, no pictures. It’s as if she never existed.
This book was terrific! Lots of twists and turns. I never guessed was what going on. Loved this book. Megan Miranda doesn’t again with another 5* read!
