Lady Quindan's Councillor
"Lord Veluar Glinfiel was never meant to leave the Queen Regent's side. But love, when entangled with duty, demanded distance--and silence. She was not supposed to know. So he chose exile, hoping time would quiet what honour could not contain. Now, called back to court by the Queen he never stopped loving, Veluar finds the realm teetering on the edge of chaos. Their enemies lurk in the shadows, but at the vanguard stands Lord Arneyde: the kingdom's deadliest duellist, a man who would challenge the Devil himself if it meant watching the crown crumble. He slithers through the halls of power, blackmailing the nobility into submission. Whispers of rebellion coil like serpents--and the attacks on Glinfiel himself prove the throne is no longer safe"--

Aaliyah .

For my fellow bookish girlies who love court intrigue and diplomacy mixed with a bit of romance. For this to be a debut novel, I was immediately drawn into the story and enjoyed the intensity of the story. Lord Glinfiel's obsession and devotion to Shaliyah had me giggling; the slow burn was worth it! There is a lot of strategy in the book as the characters are playing chess, each watching the other two determine their next move. I'm here for the political and psychological warfare.
The author's attention to detail is well done. I could practically use all five senses as I read the book and read the dialogue of the characters. I can't wait to read the next book and delve more into the intricacies of Lord Quindan's fall.
*Thank you Agathe Moire for the ARC!
