This futuristic crime fiction story gave me minority report, hunger games, and demolition man vibes at the outset. It's a very imaginative tale.
The depictions of how the crimes committed are extracted from the perpetrator's minds, and the interesting methods for punishment make for a great story.
However, I found the interactions between the hospitalised characters very childlike, and none of them had any likeable character traits. This seemed so out of kilter with the rest of the book. Please persevere at this point; without ruining the plot, all becomes clear!
The ultimate twist is fantastic, and this was such an original, well-executed tale. It would make for a magnificent Netflix box set. It's a really short story, and my only complaint would be that I'd have liked more.
