The Housemaid Parody: The Horsemaid
She cleans. She plots. She neighs.
From bestselling parody author Reid Mockery, comes The Horsemaid — a darkly hilarious twist on the viral domestic thriller that took the internet by storm.
This domestic thriller parody gallops through dark humor, psychological suspense, and satire, poking fun at every cliché from the “twisted housemaid” genre. Filled with maids and mayhem, revenge comedy, and a body-positive heroine who refuses to stay in her stall, The Horsemaid will make you laugh, gasp, and question every cleaning product you’ve ever trusted.
If you enjoyed The Housemaid, Gone Girl, or You, but wish they had more laughs, less logic, and a horse named Clorox, saddle up — this one’s for you.
Meet Gilly, a down-on-her-luck woman who takes a live-in maid job at the Crotchburns’ ranch in Texas, hoping for a fresh start. Instead, she gets locked doors, suspicious barn noises, and enough twisted secrets to fill a saddlebag. With each chapter more unhinged than the last, Gilly must navigate manure, mystery, and sexual tension on a ranch where everyone’s hiding something—even the horse.
Saddle up, because this isn’t your average psychological thriller. It’s The Horsemaid—and it’s utterly deranged in the best way.

Silly, goofy, and utterly bizarre at times, I had fun with this one. I’d you enjoyed The Housemaid, then book a stall at the ranch!
