The Web She Wove: Psychological Thriller and Drama

Such a compelling story with characters you want to hug and protect and others you want to do the opposite too. It's so real, raw, and intense. You forget you're reading fiction. And that twist at the end. DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!

The narrator did such an excellent job. He truly brought this story to life. It's my first EM Grimm story, but I'll be looking up other books he's narrated.

The emotional damage that this book displays runs deeper than anyone could ever think. I know authors put their heart and soul into each book they produce but The Web She Wove seems like so much more. It feels like a look behind the scenes of the author's life. I don't normally view the actual author while reading books but for some reason this book felt deeply personal, the words used, the lines wrote, the vision so deep that it felt intimate. Jonathan survived when Allie beat him down beyond the depths of what would break most. I love that the views are opposite here showing that men also can be victims and survive. Not every woman is the victim but sometimes the abuser and people don't always appear as they seem pretty faces doesn't make you the victim or believable.

This book had me absolutely yelling at the characters. First up Jonathan. I kept thinking, where is your backbone? And Allie, girl. You are officially on my list. Let’s just say, to avoid violating any community guidelines, I’ll keep my more colorful thoughts to myself.

This story had my blood pressure through the roof! But thankfully, J.D. Setzer knows how to deliver a satisfying payoff in this tangled web of lies and deception. If you’re a fan of thrillers that keep you emotionally invested (and maybe a little unhinged), I highly recommend giving this one a read.
