Beautifully Broken: A Dark Billionaire Romance

Oh my god, what did I just fucking read? This book put me through every emotion I have. I laughed, cried, was angry as fuck, turned on quite considerably too.

Jesus Emily, I am still like what the?! The book was so beautifully done though, the whole premise is tragic yet romantic and heartbreaking in both a good and a bad way.
Josephine and Alexander are clearly meant for each other but they don’t know the other one knows it until drama ensues. Alex ends up needing care and Josie is the one that offers to do it, after she saves his life.
Their story unfolds and you learn increasingly more about them both that had me screaming and crying over my kindle. Josie’s back story had me wanting to stab someone while my heart broke into a million pieces for her. Yes, the title of the book is that apt.

The spice is just brutally delicious as there is a lot of D/s play between them both verbally and physically, including swapping roles. So, I give it a 3.5 spicy rating.

The twist was brilliant; I had an inkling something was amiss but wasn’t quite on the money with it. And the way Emily builds to the ending was just mind blowing, you aren’t sure what emotion to feel and then suddenly, things fall into place, and you get the HEA you were after.

This book is dark, and I strongly recommend reading the trigger/content warnings first. There are some things in this story that may be harder for some to deal with than others.

Overall, another 5-star read for me this month, Emily did a great job of making my head explode with this one. Just bloody brilliant.
