Her Husband's Mistake
"Why must my family pay the price for my husband's mistake? Life isn't easy when you live with a guilty conscience, and it certainly isn't easy when you are married to an imperfect man. But for the sake of my children, I am trying to put the past behind us and there is no better time to do that than this year. With my daughter turning 21, and my son celebrating his 18th, the time is right for a family trip. At least that is what my husband thinks. Jack has always been an impulsive man, through what he is suggesting now is troubling. He wants to take our children back to the place where they grew up, and they want to go too. But there's one problem. It's the same place where my husband made his fateful mistake, although only me and him know it. It's a bad idea, but saying no would make me a bad mother. My family wants to go. I don't. Something has to give. So we go..."--Page 4 of cover.

Lorna and Jack lived in New York many years ago for work, then something happened so they came back to England. Now 15 years later their children are 21 and 18 and they want the trip of a lifetime back to New York where they spent some of their childhood. Both parents are reluctant but agree. It isn’t long after they arrive that both children go missing, Is it a coincidence or a plot of revenge?
I love Daniel Hurst’s books, he writes in a way that has you gripped from the beginning and keeps you captured right to the very end and this book had everything I would expect, secrets, suspense and an end that leaves your jaw on the ground.
This book is something that I think would be every parent’s worst nightmare, children going missing, no matter what age the children are. Especially when in a city they do not know, to what extremes would you take to get your children back?
This was told in several POVs and the narrators did a fantastic job of drawing me into the story completely.
I listened to this in one sitting because I needed to know what would happen and when I got to the end I was floored. I did not expect it!
I would recommend this to all my friends who like psychological thrillers!
