X (The PHOENIX Series, #2)

Holy crap! What a freaking book!! Are you kidding me right now?! Jafe's books just keep getting better and better, if that's even possible!! Jafe has a remarkable way of story telling, he's just brilliant! He takes real-life, sensitive subjects that people do not want to discuss and makes them his storyline. This story really had me intrigued and I was wondering how this would play out being a sensitive topic but of course this was tastefully written and with much grace. It was nice to see Phoenix, Curt and Pop Pop again, along with meeting their newest addition Rose. Unfortunately as expected with Jafe, this happy story takes a turn for the worst. What was suppose to be a fun and happy Christmas break turned into a nightmare!
I really felt for Phoenix in book 1, and became attached to her character, so the amount of concern and stress I felt for Phoenix and her family made me feel like I was right there with them. These are real incidents that happen every day and the way Jafe makes you feel a part of the situation takes talent. Phoenix went through so much in book 1, that her strength was really shown in book 2. Fantastic job Jafe! I can't rave enough!
