I read a book by Jim as an adopt an author for April and had to read another right away!

Jim does not waste a single second in this short, feral burst of zombie chaos. Unliving Legend is fast, bloody, and absolutely unhinged in the best way — the kind of story that grabs you by the throat and drags you straight into the carnage.

I loved how gruesome it was. Not just a little messy — full‑on splatter and those deliciously nasty moments that make you wince and grin at the same time. Jim leans into the gore with confidence, and I ate it up, well not like a zombie, lol.

And while the Hollywood legends add a fun, clever twist, the story makes one thing very clear: they aren’t immune from the virus!

For being a short story, it hits hard. Quick pacing, dark humor, and a level of gruesome creativity that made me wish it were longer. Jim knows exactly how to make a zombie tale feel fresh, chaotic, and wildly entertaining.

I loved every second of it!!

In 1969, mankind reached the moon. However, while the world was looking at the stars, something far more dangerous was looking at the world. As Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon, the dead took their first steps out of the grave. It was going to be a very long night for everyone. What happens when Hollywood collides with the undead? It obviously cannot end well.

This story does not waste time on filler and goes right for the jugular from the beginning. It sinks its teeth into the meat of the story and rips out all the juicy (or bloody) details. It's brutal. It's crazy. It's funny in some places. I found myself going from mentally willing characters to stay away to cheering on the undead. Everyone has to have something to celebrate, right?

A very entertaining read that I couldn't put down. If you like your books with a sprinkling of horror (and organs), a bucket of nostalgia, and a dose of humor, then don't miss out. Book a seat on the Hollywood tour, but I'd suggest keeping the windows and doors locked.
