Fantasia has a pretty good life. Her son, Xavier, can be a handful, and sure, her boyfriend, Gregory, might have his faults, but at least she has a roof over her head. For now. While watching the morning news, she is shocked to learn that her boyfriend had died. The spiral begins as her life unravels. Gregory’s life was full of secrets, and those secrets quickly bare their teeth at Fantasia. What do you do when the only world you know suddenly crumbles?

This is the third book I’ve read by this author and every one is unique and full of some serious twists. I really loved how each chapter let us into the head of a character. It felt like I was hearing their darkest thoughts. As the twists drop, I was floored. I loved his the story kept me guessing. I had no clue where it was going, and I was just happy to be asking b for the ride!

Highly recommend this one if you can get your hands on a copy! It will make you question every person in your life.

I swear B.E. Fournier's books get better and better every round, if that's even possible!!
This book definitely has jaw dropping twists, you think you know, but you don't... no...
Highly suggest picking up a copy when this releases on April 30th. You wont regret your reading decision with this one!

Fantasia and Olive, two women who were involved with the same man and who have each fathered his son, seemingly meet for the first time after hearing the news of Gregory’s murder. Fantasia is clinging to her life with her son by a thread, on the verge of homelessness, riddled with anxiety and tied to a schedule of endless medication after a horrendous ordeal in her recent past. Olive is quite the opposite, living a life with her son in a fancy loft, being an artist, and appearing as if she has it all together. When it becomes apparent that Gregory was attempting to steal artwork at the time of his death and now that artwork is missing, both women team up to find the artwork before the murderer finds them.

This was a new author for me and I found the writing spot on. The twists were all over the place and despite being a consummate thriller reader, I could not predict them! There were so many zig-zags in the plot, that I had no idea where the author was going with it, and I LOVED every second of it! The ending was a shock!

I had trouble trying to decide who to route for in this book because although I found each character to be interesting, I also found each one to be self-centered and impulsive. I found myself switching who I was routing for back and forth.

The author was very good with descriptive phrases and I especially liked the vivid descriptions of the antique store and the replication painting process.
