Wrath of an Exile: An Enemies to Lovers Romance (The River Styx Heathens)

In Ponderosa Springs, this version of Romeo and Juliet isn’t a tragedy. It’s war.

Jude Sinclair is West Trinity Falls’ favorite exiled loner.
Cocky. Insufferably hot. Family foe.
Raised across the tracks in a rival town, he reeks of trouble. Which is the one thing I’ve always had a problem avoiding and now that he’s just down the hall, it’s harder to resist the pull.
My father made one rule when Jude moved in, never trust a Sinclair.
The last thing I need is for my new foster brother to make me question my loyalty with his filthy smirks and poet tongue. But with every forbidden kiss and secret hookup, I quickly find myself faced with two options.
Betray my family? Or betray my heart?

TL;DR:
A bold, forbidden romance that smolders, stings, and steals your sleep in the best way. Dark, steamy, and emotional with enemies to lovers energy that actually delivers. The family feud backdrop raises the stakes and the romance is deliciously messy. I had a great time, even if a couple stretches lingered longer than I wanted. Keep reading for the full review.

Synopsis:
In Ponderosa Springs, this is not a tragic love story. It is war. Jude Sinclair comes from the rival town across the tracks and he brings trouble with him. He is cocky, too attractive for anyone’s peace, and absolutely off limits. When he moves in down the hall, the pull is impossible to ignore, even with a house rule that says never trust a Sinclair. Every secret kiss forces a choice. Do you betray your family or betray your heart?

Spillin’ the Book Tea:
Thank you to Valentine PR and Monty Jay for the ALC in exchange for my honest thoughts. I enjoyed this one. The writing has a smooth, lyrical feel and the emotion lands. I love a good enemies to lovers that turns into forbidden attraction and this checks that box in neon.

The small town rivalry gives the romance real weight. You feel the pressure from every corner, which makes the quiet moments hit even harder. Jude carries that broody loner vibe, while Phi has a backbone you cannot help but cheer for. Together they spark, argue, kiss, repeat. I liked how the book lets them fail, learn, and still reach for each other.

My only quibble is pace. A few scenes stretch just a touch past their peak, so momentum dips here and there. Still, the payoff is worth it. If you want angst, tension, and a romance that dares you to pick a side, this one delivers.
