Yes, Ride the Line is mostly smut (or erotica, whatever term floats your boat) but the meaning behind the book's title had me in shambles and the emotions between the characters had me a little teary eyed.
Marley, Maddox, and Xander's friendship is so powerful and imbues Xander with the support he needs as he navigates single parenthood and the loss of his wife. I liked how even though Marley and Maddox were adamantly childfree, they treated Callie as if she was their own.
Beyond the bonds is the sexual tension between the characters. Xander taking over during the spicy scenes, our switchy Marley, and Maddox being a delicious cuck... I was fanning myself with a fan while listening to this book 😅
I loved the narrator choices. Ash as the guys was chef's kiss, especially as Daddy Xander. Savannah was perfect as Marley, delivering the lines with equal parts dominance and submission just as the character was.
