This book is definitely not my usual style. It is part historical fiction and part fantasy with a bit of horror sprinkled in. It has a slow start, but then it picks up speed and cruises to the end.

Abitha lives with her husband Edward in the new world in 1666. Times are tough and the rule of the land is done by the Bible. However, Abitha comes from a long line of cunning women and it’s this trait that will ensure her survival in these desperate times.
