This book is written so well that it feels like a real case. The story is fast paced but the prose keeps you invested as the plot unravels.
Bev is determined to have her redemption arc after losing everything (job, marriage, kid, etc). She discovers an app called Immersion where the entertainment comes in the form of murders, each progressing in brutality. Bev races to save would be victim named Erin while facing the demons of her own past.
The main characters were interesting but the supporting cast were merely there. The plot has several twists but I found the end to be a bit lacking.
This was the first book I read by Melinda but it won't be the last!
*I received a copy from BookSprout and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

“The End of Her” by Melinda Di Lorenzo is such a wild, suspenseful ride! It follows retired detective Bev Parent, who gets pulled right back into the world she thought she left behind. There’s this creepy app called Immersion where murder is treated like entertainment, and Bev is racing the clock to save a girl caught in its crosshairs. On top of that, she’s trying hard to keep her own past from catching up with her. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through—and that ending totally blew my mind!
