First read book by James Kaine, and what a ride it was... Blood, gore and action... Terrifier meets Battle Royale. Thumbs up.

"Black Friday" by James Kaine is an engaging read that takes you on a wild ride. I'd rate it 4.5 stars. The story does start off a bit slowly, which might test your patience at first, but hang in there—it evolves into an action-packed narrative loaded with intense moments that keep you on your toes. Kaine excels in character development, giving depth to the individuals in the story, making their journeys feel worthwhile. Plus, the humor sprinkled in through clever references and witty dialogue adds a nice touch. Overall, it's a fantastic piece that showcases Kaine's storytelling skills while keeping you entertained!

When a mysterious man visits an ex-marine, a single mother, an adult film star, and a struggling student, they all receive an envelope with an invitation inside. All they need to do is compete in a game at a local abandoned mall for a little Black Friday game. What could possibly go wrong?

As they all turn up for the event, things start to feel strange. Over 50 people have arrived hoping for the chance to win the life changing money. But in this game, who are actually the winners?

The author takes the first few chapters to help us get to know the contestants, and once they arrive at the mall the action is relentless. I found myself willing them all to be ok. We had, after all, spent the first few chapters getting to know them. The author made sure we’re all totally invested before hitting the gas and going full speed into what can only be described as a type of Hunger Games but kicked up 300%.
