Whitley Cox's *Summer with a Single Dad* is the perfect feel-good read when you're in the mood for a warm, sun-soaked getaway. Set on the idyllic island of San Camanez, the story centers on Bennett McEvoy, a ruggedly charming single dad juggling his business while raising two young daughters. Enter Dr. Justine Brazeau, a mysterious guest with a hidden past, who awakens something deep within Bennett.
I absolutely adored this book! Whitley masterfully sets the scene and brings each character to life with distinctive personalities. Most of the characters are so likable and you kind of get attached to them. My heart absolutely broke for Justine and all that she endured with the loss of her patient. Whitley did a remarkable job making you feel Justine's pain. I loved the banter between the characters, I enjoyed Anya (what a personality that one had!), and I loved the family bond the McEvoy brothers had.
The slow-burn romance between Bennett and Justine simmers with undeniable chemistry, keeping you hooked as their relationship gradually unfolds. The steamy moments are perfectly balanced with heartwarming scenes of family and healing, creating a rich and satisfying read. If you love stories of second chances, strong family ties, and a perfect mix of warmth and passion, *Summer with a Single Dad* will hit all the right notes.
