The Playroom
Who is the victim and who is the monster?
Jessica never allowed herself to get close to anyone. Until now.
She wants to find a man who will learn to love her - and is prepared to do anything to achieve her goal.
Max soon becomes the focus of her attention. He is a handsome man, but he is also carrying a dark secret.
When Jessica is abducted by Max, their strange relationship takes a deadly turn as the playroom becomes a place of captivity. Which of them is captive?
As two twisted people begin a dangerous game, there is more at stake than either of them first realised. In the playroom, nothing is as it seems, and every move could be the last...

The characters in this story are complex, and the premise is unsettling in the best way possible.
The story follows Jessica, a woman who has been bullied her whole life, due to her weight and yearns to be loved. She becomes involved with Max, who in her eyes is a "hottie."
This leads to a situation of captivity and mind games where determining the roles of victim and offender becomes challenging.
The story goes deep into obsession, power plays, and surprising twists in the plot. The suspense had me on edge the whole time, craving more!
What I loved was how the story was told through multiple perspectives, adding layers of depth and intrigue. The obsession, the power struggles, and those unpredictable twists kept me on edge the entire time.
This was a great and intense story that I absolutely recommend!

A twisted tale of wanted to be loved no matter the price. You literally never could feel for a character because each one had a personality that you could see through and you knew that deep within them something was just not right. As the story progressed the tale takes on a more twisted fate that you literally had no idea what to expect next. Some parts it was if misery loves company others it was who is going to out smart who.
Interesting story. First one for me from this author, will definitely check out more. The only reason for three stars is not being able to connect with any of the characters.
There may be some triggers for some people so may want to check that before reading.

Victim becomes monster and monster becomes victim. Or were they all monsters from the start?
