Mediterranean Waves is one of the books that had me emotional and a bit conflicted. The story follows Samantha, a woman who breaks up with her emotionally abusive bf and is urged to take a trip to find herself. She travels to Greece and meets three people, each bringing out a different aspect of her and bringing clarity to who she really is.
I loved the characters. Sam starts off shy and critical of herself, letting people's opinions get to her. By the end, she decides to trust herself/her intuition.
Nina is Sam's feisty best friend who initially urges Sam to go to Greece and live life without restraint.
Lucian's unapologetic, go getter attitude was fun but he got on my nerves with his innuendos and constant need to screw. Jenny's playful demeanor and ability to draw Sam out of her shyness was cute. But Adonis... whew, he was a gentleman and I couldn't stop smirking at his interactions with Sam.
The spice was fantastic. Sam's sexual awakening felt authentic. The difference between her three lovers kept me wondering about whom she would choose. My main issue with the spice is the lack of protection. Not a fan of that.
Some parts felt a little rushed and I was a little disappointed with the abrupt ending. It was a good story if you want a quick, spicy read.
Thanks to Laura and T.J for the early copy!
