If She’s Found by Alesha Dykema is a tense and emotional thriller that digs into family secrets, loss, and the lies we tell ourselves to survive. It’s one of those stories that hooks you with atmosphere first, a quiet unease that slowly builds until you realize you’ve been holding your breath for half the book.

The story follows a missing person case that spirals into something much darker. Dykema balances mystery and emotion beautifully, showing how grief and guilt can twist people in unexpected ways. The writing is vivid but restrained, never tipping into melodrama. I especially liked how the plot kept shifting between what’s real and what’s remembered, giving it that unreliable-edge quality that makes psychological thrillers so addictive.

The audiobook narration by Alex Picard is outstanding. Her voice fits the tone perfectly. It's steady when the story calls for control, then raw and emotional when things start to fracture. She gives each character a subtle distinction that makes following the story effortless, and her pacing is spot-on. It’s one of those performances that pulls you all the way in.

Overall, If She’s Found is a chilling, well-written thriller with heart. It’s less about jump scares and more about the quiet dread of realizing someone you love might not be who you think they are. I’d give it 4 stars for strong writing, believable emotion, and excellent narration.

I was given a copy of this audiobook from Podium. All opinions are my own.
