The Porcelain Child
Nine-year-old Ellie Harlow vanished without a trace from the quiet woods behind her family's home. The only clue left behind? A broken porcelain doll; ancient, cracked, and impossibly alive.
For Marla and Michael Harlow, grief turns into a nightmare when the doll begins to move, whisper, and change; taking on the eerie likeness of their missing daughter. As the line between hope and horror blurs, their home becomes a prison of shadows and secrets. Neighbors grow suspicious, strange voices echo through the walls, and the doll's sinister presence creeps into every corner of their lives.
Is Ellie trapped inside the doll, begging for rescue? Or is something older, darker, and far more malevolent using her voice to lure them deeper into the woods' ancient grip?
In this chilling tale of loss and terror, nothing is what it seems. And the woods are watching.
Sometimes, the things we love most refuse to let go... and sometimes, they never come back at all.

At the heart, this is a story about going through grief; the repetitive nature of it, the battle, coming out the other side. It is also very creepy and atmospheric in parts. I do agree with some reviewers about Rowena just vanishing and I wasn't sure what the point was of Ava's chapter either. But overall, very atmospheric and it gets under your skin.
