AJ Campbell’s Christmas Revenge is like getting hit by a plot-twist truck—then it backs up for good measure.

This book is unhinged in the best way. I started for the suspense, stayed for the chaos, and finished with my jaw on the floor.

AJ doesn’t write thrillers—she builds emotional rollercoasters with no seatbelts. Every chapter’s a trapdoor, every secret a ticking bomb, and just when you think you’re safe? Boom. Another twist.

If you love thrillers that make you gasp, yell, and question your trust in fictional humans, Christmas Revenge is your next obsession!

Dark, tense, and unsettling, Christmas Revenge unwraps a holiday thriller fueled by trauma, secrets, and long-simmering rage. AJ Campbell expertly weaves vengeance and family deception into a chilling story where nothing—and no one—can be trusted. As the truth closes in, the suspense sharpens—revealing that this Christmas, the deadliest gift isn’t wrapped under the tree, but hidden in the truth.

I love A.J. Campbell's writing, and this was a great Christmas themed story. I listened to the audiobook. The narrator was fantastic, and I enjoyed the storyline, although I found it a little slow to get going. It certainly made up for it by the end though, and the twists kept coming, and boy were they good!

Brilliant book. The characters were so well written I could feel their emotions. The way the story twisted together was very clever and still had a twist I never saw coming. 5/5. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Christmas Revenge by AJ Campbell

A first for everything.
After drowning myself in pitch-black, soul-scraping reads for days, I somehow landed here. Not a happy book—don’t get it twisted—but one that opens and closes with something unexpectedly gentle. And yes, I’m starting with a line from the last line, because it earned that right:

“We can’t change what’s happened. The past needs to stay in the past. We need to move forward, celebrate the wins and put the losses behind.”

Annoyingly comforting. The kind of sentence that sneaks up on you when you’re emotionally bruised and not in the mood to be hugged—but still kind of need it.

Now back to the damage.

This book is an emotional roller coaster wrapped in Christmas lights that are definitely sparking and possibly on fire. Another Christmas ruined. A family so thoroughly fractured it’s almost impressive. Loss on top of loss—some obvious, some quiet, some buried so deep they’ve started poisoning everything around them.

What hit hardest? I felt everyone. Well… almost everyone. I’ll let you decide who deserves your sympathy and who deserves to step on a Lego in the dark. The writing makes you sit inside each character’s grief, desperation, anger, and moral confusion. Justice. Revenge. The blurry, dangerous line between the two.

And oh, the secrets.
This book is basically a masterclass in how to emotionally destroy a family using silence. What secrets do to people. What they rot. What they protect. And when—if ever—you should tell the truth. Is every question really worth knowing the answer to? Personally? If you’re going to keep a secret, commit. Lock it down. Let people live in blissful ignorance. There’s power in not knowing. There’s mercy in it, too.

Because secrets don’t just hurt.
They fester.
And somehow they always feel heavier, darker, more cruel during Christmas—when everything is supposed to be warm, safe, and forgiving, and instead it’s just trauma in festive packaging.

By the end, tears are shed. Some people leave. Some stay. Someone new shows up and—shockingly—brings a little light with them. It’s not all destruction. Just… mostly.

So yes.
Four secretive stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Because nothing quite beats a warm, psychologically damaging, heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, family-destroying Christmas story.

“Christmas Revenge” by A. J. Campbell is my new favorite from this author! This gripping thriller is packed with suspense, lies, and shocking twists that kept me glued to the pages. The tension builds beautifully, and every reveal adds another layer of deceit and surprise. A perfectly chilling, addictive read that’s perfect for the holiday season!
