Ward D

"Medical student Amy Brenner is spending the night on a locked psychiatric ward. Amy has been dreading her evening working on Ward D, the hospital's inpatient mental health unit. There are very specific reasons why she never wanted to do this required overnight rotation. Reasons nobody can ever find out. And as the hours tick by, Amy grows increasingly convinced something terrible is happening within these tightly secured walls. When patients and staff start to vanish without a trace, it becomes clear that everyone on the unit is in grave danger. Amy's worst nightmare was spending the night on Ward D. And now she might never escape." --back cover.

What a crazy ride!!!

Ward D draws you into the intriguing world of psychiatric medicine with intern Amy spending her first night on a rotation in the locked psychiatric ward. Amy is met by her former boyfriend Cameron upon entering the ward with her dreading spending the evening in the locked ward, with only one way out, even more. To make things even worse, Amy’s childhood best friend Jade is a patient on the ward and knows all of Amy’s secrets.

When odd occurrences begin happening, including Cameron leaving to go home for a family emergency according to Dr Beck, the attending physician, Amy starts looking further into what is going on. Disappearances, weird noises, patient outbursts and getting locked in the unit until shift change all test Amy’s own sanity.

Who do you trust? Are old friendships able to be rekindled even though your friend is currently a patient? Will new friendships be made? Can love come out of a harrowing experience together? Or does ones own insanity manage to seep through no matter what?

Find the answers to all these questions and more in Ward D, a fast-paced thrill ride with a peek into the world of psychiatric medicine and the mentally ill.
