Until the Storm Passes
~Ashley Bundy
Famed psychological thriller author Olivia Waterson escapes to a remote Colorado mountain cabin to craft her next masterpiece. With hours still ahead on her drive, she pulls into a dingy gas station for fuel and snacks - only to fend off a leering clerk’s unwanted advances.
Enter Griffin Owens, a stranger who smoothly drapes an arm around her waist, playing the doting husband to shut the creep down. He pays for both their items, and they part ways to separate cars. Learning they’re renting neighboring cabins from the same owner, he slips her his number “just in case” before she drives on.
What follows is a descent into isolation and doubt: scratching in the attic, a deranged mountain lion slamming against the windows, a sudden blizzard sealing her in, daily calls with her sister stoking paranoia, and a shadowy figure lurking outside the glass. When Olivia finally texts Griffin for help, she can no longer tell if the threat is real - or if cabin fever has cracked her mind wide open.
Bundy has filled this pressure-cooker with a rogue’s gallery whose sins run the gamut from infidelity and gaslighting to outright murd3r - and that’s just the appetizer. Olivia herself is a masterclass in layered trauma; her raw vulnerability forges an almost uncomfortable bond with the reader. Every supporting player is equally fleshed-out, but I’ll leave their secrets buried for you to unearth.
Dual timelines and shifting POVs weave together without a single snag, driving a pace so merciless you’ll forget sleep exists. This isn’t a book you read - it’s a storm you survive, complete with a cliffhanger that’ll haunt your dreams.
Mark your calendar for November 18, 2025, and pre-order Until the Storm Passes. Fair warning: it will squat rent-free in your skull long after the final page.
I would like to thank Ashley Bundy for the opportunity to Alpha/Beta/ARC for Until the Storm Passes. As always, all opinions and reviews are of my own volition. I have not been promised any compensation, current or future, by the author or publisher for a fair and honest review.

I had a great time with Until the Storm Passes. From the first chapter, the story pulls you in with this quiet, eerie vibe that makes you want to keep reading “just to see what happens next.” The mountain setting is super atmospheric, and it’s easy to feel Olivia’s nerves right along with her.
Olivia is a really relatable character, and her reactions all feel real. Griffin gave me the chills in that perfect thriller-book way, and Rusty the dog honestly became one of my favorite parts of the story.
The pacing is smooth, the writing is easy to sink into, and the tension builds in a way that keeps you turning pages without feeling stressed. It’s just a really enjoyable thriller overall—creepy, entertaining, and hard to put down.
If you like atmospheric mysteries with a little edge to them, this one’s definitely worth the read.
