Magnetic Mechanics (Sparrow Falls)

Emerson

Having a crush on your best friend’s older brother is as cliche as it sounds.

But that didn’t stop my infatuation with Axle Jenkins. The sexy, tattooed bad boy, who let me work on cars with him, never gave me another thought, though.
Until one night after I graduated high school. Everything changed, but not in the way I had hoped. I swore I’d never speak to him again as I fled his apartment.
Fast forward, and none other than Axle turns up at my shop needing a job that dear old dad was more than happy to give him.
For the sake of his gram and sister, I vow to try and make this work, but it’s not long before my desire to avoid him is ruined by my need to push him until he consumes me.
Hopefully, history doesn’t repeat itself, leaving me to pick up the pieces on my own.
Axle
Emerson Rose Wilson is a temptation I could never afford.

Of course, it wasn’t always that way. At first, she was just my little sister’s best friend who loved cars, but that little girl turned into a gorgeous woman right before my eyes.
Crossing the line when it came to Emerson was never an option, until one night when the temptation was too hard to resist crushing her that night just proved that I was no good for her, so I left.
Years later, I found my way home to help with my ailing Grandma only to find myself working at Wilson’s garage with none other than Emerson as my new boss.
I tell myself that I won’t cross that line again, but she’s my ultimate temptation, and I don’t think I can walk away a second time.

I loved the prologue but it made me sad. Chapter 1 made me feel like I was reading Brewing Brilliance all over again. It took me to the end of Chapter 2 and a very amazing friend to remind me Jay Fields does intertwine her books. Which helped me from being so confused on the reasons the books were so similar. Once you start reading this, you will not be able to put it down. There isn’t a single book by Jay Fields that I have been able to put down and not read in one setting.

Em and Axle’s story is hot, very hot, but also full of trauma, scars, and damage that both are afraid of. Even when it is so obvious that they are meant for one another. Axle keeps surprising me as the story continues. This man is so hot and has all the best attributes that a man can have, all while being the misunderstood bad boy.

Oh my… I didn’t think I would be crying while reading Magnetic Mechanics but lord help me. This is so scary and stressful but at least there is good news. The ending couldn’t be a better happy ever after. I love how it tied all the characters together throught the whole story and especially the ending.
