Nikki feels like wolves are circling her when Will and Dan both express an interest in her. She tries to balance friendship and work obligations, keeping everyone happy until she goes to a carnival and meets Jack Volk, the one guy she can safely say is not a wolf. Serena has far too much on her plate as a waitress, trailer park manager, and single mother of a newly graduated daughter. When her daughter Nikki comes home talking about harassment at work, and a boy, Jack, that she met at some carnival, Serena is worried and decides to investigate this carnival. Little could she know that she would meet her destiny there, both evil and good. Evil when she is mistaken for Nikki in the dark and good in the guise of her rescuer, Phalen, who is just her kind of bad boy.
