Altair University: The Bleak Beginning is such a good read for those who like dark academia and bully romances. It follows Alexandra Prescott, a piano prodigy-turned-botanist who is on her third college after she didn't vibe with her second choice. She ends up at Altair University and immediately draws the ire of the Legacies, a group of students who obviously had prestigious family members attend the school.

i definitely felt anxiety for Alex as she became accustomed to a new school and college bullies but I admired her resilience as she refused to back down to Bishop and his cronies.

I loved the setting of the book (dark, eerie, Gothic architecture made into a college) and how Amber has a descriptive writing style. The only gripe I had was not fully exploring Alex's passion for botany. One small complaint? The cliffhanger
