The Quantico Killer

I don't quite know how she manages to do it, but this is the third book I've read by Welz Bailey, and every single time, she's kept me on my toes. She manages to jam-pack so much into every story that you daren't look away, and don't even think you know who it is, because just when you think you've cracked it, bam, she whips that rug right out from under you and leaves you feeling unsure of whom to trust.

In book three, we see Clara finally finding her way into the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit in Quantico. Clara is a complex yet extremely human agent who strives to be the best while keeping her own demons at bay. Alongside the hunt to track down a killer who is preying on couples swept up in love is Clara's own personal quest to solve the eighteen-year mystery of what happened to her younger brother Grayson.

Welz has a way with words and the way she sets the scenes pulls you right into the middle of the action. We get to ride along with the FBI. We get a glimpse into the thoughts of some of the characters. Every detail is precise and serves its purpose to build up the whole picture. I found myself racing with Clara and trying to solve the case before her. Spoiler: I was so very wrong.

If you like a gripping, lively plot with enough twists to send you to a chiropractor, then this is the book for you!

I love every Clara Strong book there is. (3 so far)
Strong FMC with so much personality and strength. She is a character you find yourself connecting with on a more personal level. If you are into crime thrillers this is a perfect series to start. This series has been fast paced and full of suspense from the very beginning and continues on through with each book you pick up. Welz is a fantastic author with 5 star books every time.

The third book in the series follows Clara Strong into her first case with FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit. She barely has time to meet the team before she's hunting down a serial killer, who is always one step ahead, and bodies are piling up. It's intense and thrilling, and I loved it!

The writing is taut, and the plot fast-moving. I was completely blindsided by who was committing the despicable crimes, and what more could you want from a suspenseful thriller! A solid five stars!
