This was a new genre of romance for me, it wasn’t dark or set in a fantasy world, it was closer to real life, and I fucking loved it! The setting is idyllic, a cattle ranch in Canada surrounded by the mountains and fresh air – send me there now please.
The story itself is sweet but spicy, Summer is young and driven to do the best job she can for her father, but is it the job she really wants to do? And then to be paired up with Rhett, who’s stubborn and really should be thinking about retirement or coaching a younger rider at his age, on tour in a hotel and there’s only one bed? The tension is intense with their relationship starting with outright dislike and a stubbornness to change from both MC’s, but grows to burning desire for each other the more time they spend together. Eventually realising, with the help of Rhett’s father and brothers, they are made for each other and the best thing to happen to each other, the development of their connection makes for a beautiful read.
