Broken Queen (Blood Queen)
Death waits for no one…especially those who have cheated it.
Running away with her tail between her legs isn’t who Layla is, but it’s all she can do when she awakens on the brink of death. She must find her place in Rune’s kingdom, yet her journey of survival won’t be easy for her or Keir, as their path dredges up old memories—some better left forgotten.
Soon, the line between pleasure and pain blurs, wreaking havoc on more than just Layla and Rune’s hearts. When death rears its vicious head once more, Layla knows nothing will stop her from reclaiming what’s hers, even if it means confronting the Orken kingdom alone.
Can Layla rescue Rune before it’s too late? Or will death finally reap the seeds she has sown?

I guess I will be the odd ball to most everyone of the reviews I skimmed over. I actually loved this book. First and foremost, I needed to read something different besides what I have been reading. Two, I loved all parts of the book. I understand not all books are for everyone.
My favorite parts of the book are:
First and foremost, I love a strong FMC. This book delivered 5 star.
Second, It kept me on my toes with all the plot twists.
Third, I love animal sidekicks. Who doesn't?
Fourth, the murder mystery side to it. Like I stated before plot twists.
Five, I love Layla and Rune's chemistry.
All the reasons for 5 star.
My only downside to the book is I have questions on certain things that I hope book two will take care of. I have no problem waiting for things to be explained a little more in detail as the series goes on.
