This is the sequel to The Dollhouse by Sarah Ennis, first off.
As a content warning, this one, like Dollhouse, is kinda graphic only even more horrifyingly so. Honestly, this one shades into horror (in my opinion) as well as psych thriller.
Also, I am 95% sure Sarah Ennis is an indie author, so respect.
Anyway, this is a really fast paced read with a lot of heart stopping moments and some true ewww moments. We also meet some new fantastic characters (CB!) And see more arc from Angel.
I knocked it down for a few things: some weird phrases that could have been done better (hence my suspicion of indie. We are odd ducks who don't notice when our clever phrases actually make no sense. For example, "...my pink stallion charging into battle. She rocks and quivers but pushes on." You see the problem here). The villain also didnt feel as well fleshed out as Alfred in Dollhouse. This books just feels a bit more rushed in general.
But still pretty good and I am quite happy to have read it

The Hunted , book two in the Duality series was even better than The Dollhouse, book one in the series. I found this one to be much more interesting and face paced. The book was relatively dark at times but Sara Ennis did not tarnish the tale with graphic details that would possibly turn a reader off , yet that being said it is still possible that it may trigger some sensitive readers. I'm happy that I decided to continue the series when l felt the first book was lacking in areas, as this one kept me completely interested throughout. Even more so, my interest is highly peaked to learn more about CB 's dilemma in the next book No Mercy due out in late 2022
