Some Choose Darkness is a tense, atmospheric thriller that pulled me in almost immediately and never fully let go. The pacing is sharp, the mystery is layered, and there’s a steady sense of unease that keeps building rather than burning out too early. I stayed deeply invested in both the investigation and the emotional weight behind it, which is something not every thriller manages to balance well.
It narrowly missed a full 5 stars for me only because a few elements didn’t hit quite as hard as they could have—but overall, this was a gripping, smart read that kept me engaged from start to finish. An easy 4.5⭐ and a strong recommendation if you like dark, methodical thrillers that respect the reader.
