Aftermath (Fractured Pasts Book 1)

I overall enjoyed the plot and adored the characters. The gripe I had was that it's marketed as Spencer Reid-coded and Stone is a little like the character from Criminal Minds; he's smart but his mannerisms and other traits are nothing like Reid.

Moving on, the romance was a subplot which allows the reader to get into the major plot line which is finding the Coastal Killer and solving the cold case. The tension between the characters was cute and I loved that Lenore refused to back down simply because Stone was the more experienced investigator due to his job. The two worked well together and I enjoyed how they sort of healed each other from their respective traumas/pasts.

As a lifelong fan of crime shows, I figured out the killer early but the end was still spine-chilling and captivating. Aftermath is a great book for readers who like good mysteries/thrillers.
