A violent confrontation outside her own home all but confirms the inevitable: Rose Rivera must sever friendships and trust no one, as the community of Brookhaven transforms into a deeply hostile suburban hell.
Shocking secrets, twisting lies and dark pasts converge as Rose strives to find the terrifying truth behind the gruesome murder of Robert Abernathy.
The once tight-knit community of Brookhaven is ripping itself apart. The neighborhood and its residents will never be the same again.

I always enjoy Spencer Guerrero's books, each one gets better. They are not extremely complex on details but they are tense, enjoyable reads with surprise endings.

In “A Murder in the Neighborhood,” Spencer crafts a chilling psychological thriller set in the seemingly serene suburb of Brookhaven. It all kicks off with the brutal murder of Albert Abernathy, a beloved family man, which totally shatters the calm of this cohesive community. The main suspect? Rose Rivera, a young wife and developing businesswoman. She fiercely denies the accusations, but an eyewitness places her at the scene. As her neighbors turn against her and her marriage starts to crumble, Rose is left isolated and desperate to uncover the truth.

Spencer masterfully crafts a tale filled with shocking secrets, twisting lies, and dark pasts.
The story is fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to uncover the truth behind Abernathy’s murder
The tension ramps up as Rose navigates a community that has become a hostile suburban hell.

Spencer nails the claustrophobic vibe where trust is scarce, and everyone’s a potential suspect. I held my own breath quite a few times. I also felt frustration towards the husband and her so called friends. The plot twists are spot-on, making me constantly guess and rethink my theories about who could be the real culprit, was it Rose all along? Or another member of this beloved community?

I was amazed at how quickly a community could turn on one of its own when fear and suspicion took hold.

Overall, “A Murder in the Neighborhood” is a must-read! Spencer’s storytelling skills and ability to create a tense, immersive atmosphere along with a shocking ending, make this book a standout.
