Alone in Salem's Fall with her trusted black cat, she uncovers Damien's haunting family legacy with ties to a secret society and a pattern of ritualistic murders. James begins to wonder if she's defending a monster... or worse, falling for one. As Halloween looms and the bodies pile up, James fears that losing this case doesn't just mean her career-it means her life.
The Silence of the Lambs meets Labyrinth in this dangerously addictive blend of twisty psychological thriller, legal suspense, and gothic dark romance-perfect for fans of Verity, Haunting Adeline, and The Housemaid.

This was fun, intense and I blew right through this Halloween inspired thriller.

This book had me hooked. It’s got that perfect mix of dark tension, danger, and twisty, forbidden love that keeps you pulled in from the first chapter. The atmosphere is eerie and powerful — like stepping straight into a storm where you can’t quite tell who’s telling the truth or what’s really waiting underneath the surface.
The characters feel real — messy, flawed, and magnetic in that way that makes you both love and doubt them. Every chapter builds that uneasy, addictive kind of suspense that makes your pulse tick faster.
And that cover? Completely stunning. It’s what drew me in, and it fits the story so perfectly — haunting, bold, and beautiful all at once.
This was my first Rektok Ross read, and I’m impressed. It’s different from most thrillers I’ve picked up — more emotional, more morally gray, and with a kind of slow-burn intensity that makes it perfect for October nights when you want something a little dark and a little dangerous.
