This is a lovely children’s book, about a non-verbal autistic boy called Ethan, a fictional story, but based on the observations and experiences Sherry Quan Lee has had with her grandson. There is a quote a couple of pages in that says “If you’ve met one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism” – Dr. Stephen Shore
This is very true. We are actually in the process of getting a referral for ASD, I also have an autistic brother, and although they are both completely different to Ethan as they are verbal but certain things seem to be similar.
This was written beautifully, and maybe will give people some small understanding, whether it is children who are autistic, children who have an autistic child in the class, or even family members.
