A necromancer, a phantom, a house of trials run by devils. Ophelia must master her gifts and face the nine rings of hell to save her sister and her home.
First time I have actually said Fuck out loud whilst reading. This book gave me everything I needed and more. Blackwell is divine, the epitome of sophistication, charisma and sarcasm. He has a dark secret and the twist in this book will have you screaming. It is definitely one of those where you think you’ve got it all worked out and then BAM! Something happens and you were so far from the truth, you have to sit there staring at the page for a good ten minutes.
Ophelia is a surprising FMC, she seems a bit wishy-washy to begin with, but I think it’s due to the years of people looking at her and making snide comments about her mother, her gifts and her eyes. She’s smart and cunning and can definitely handle herself. With Blackwell’s help, she must face her darkest fears and also learn more about herself than she thought possible.
I cannot wait to read book two and I will definitely be purchasing this in paperback to reread (read on KU)
