In "Dangerous Games," Molly Garcia takes us on a gripping journey into the life of Cleo, who is forced to confront her ex-best friend when she seeks Cleo's help in catching her daughter's killer. Teaming up with her old friend, Win, and now DCI Tom Woods, Cleo finds herself entangled in a deadly game with a cunning murderer who hides behind the online anonymity.
Cleo is an interesting character as she has a "gift" hinted at in the book's description, which adds an intriguing supernatural element to the story.
The dynamics between Cleo, Win, and DCI Tom Woods are also skillfully portrayed. Their shared history and personal connections add depth to their interactions, making their collaboration both believable and compelling. As they delve deeper into the investigation, the tension and suspense steadily build, and this really kept me excited and enthralled with this book!
Molly's writing style is engaging and fast-paced, making "Dangerous Games" a page-turner from start to finish.
While the novel primarily focuses on the pursuit of the killer, it also delves into themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the consequences of one's actions.
I want to finish with I absolutely recommend this book! I actually am reading backwards as this was an ARC so I read it first, but I don't feel it took away from the story, I wasn't lost at all with the lives of the characters.
I now I need to start from the beginning!
