Frost-Degree Murder: The Ice Cream Truck Mysteries

What could be better than driving an ice cream truck through New Hampshire during peak foliage? Katie Thorne decided Vermont in October was the answer. Specifically, she secured a weekend gig at a rural college selling her dishes and cones at a couple events on campus after first stopping to work a two-day craft fair with her feline travel companion, Jaspurr.

The college spirit is high in western Vermont as the school is deep in the heart of football season. Katie is enjoying her first evening working for the college when a sorority president approaches her about attending a party later that night with her truck. The social gathering, however, puts a chill on her hot streak when a freshman pledge ends up dead sometime in the early morning hours.

When Katie realizes someone should have called 9-1-1 earlier, she takes it upon herself to figure out why the college student might now be the victim of frost-degree murder. Can she keep the investigation from being put on ice?

I recently had the pleasure of reading "Murder by the Scoopful" by Virginia Bennett, and I have to say, it was a wonderful change from my usual reading choices. This cozy mystery brought a delightful and entertaining concept that kept me captivated from start to finish.

The story revolves around Katie Thorne, who embarks on adventures in an ice cream truck with her feline sidekick, Jaspurr. Of course she finds herself in the middle of a mystery that needs to be solved. Being an RV enthusiast myself, I felt a connection to Katie's free-spirited nature and her unique way of life. I also must say traveling in an ice cream truck would be dangerous for me, I would eat all of the ice cream!
