After Caleb Lache's girlfriend, Shannon, is murdered one fateful night when they are both only eighteen years old, he turns to an existence of life in a bottle of booze. Years later, another tragedy hits their small Kentucky town and Caleb is thrust back into reality, forced to think about someone other than himself. He finds himself responsible and fighting for people he just met.
A strange visitor appears in the forest behind his neighborhood, convincing Caleb he has found the key to his girlfriend's unsolved murder. Determined to set things right and keep his family safe, Caleb takes a journey into the national forest in search of answers to what happened that night and revenge for Shannon's death. However, now he isn't alone.
