Black Widow starts where Green Monsters finished, and we see Stacey sent to prison for her crimes.
During her long prison sentence, a lot happens. From the birth of her baby, and mental health problems to making a true friend.
This is quite different from the first book, I think we get to know the real Stacey more. Does she regret her actions? The whole premise was fantastic, I don’t think I have read a book set in a prison like this before.
Stacey went from a character you probably disliked a lot in book one to a character that you can’t help but sympathise for, in particular instances.
The way the book ended I am hoping there will be a third book in the pipeline. It seems there is still some unfinished business.
Overall Nicky Shearsby has written two incredible books which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. I would definitely recommend Black Widow to my friends, although please read Green Monsters first. This is not a standalone book!
