The plot served angst, the MMC is flawed, and the FMC is strong and feisty.
Embers of Us follows renowned ballerina Savannah Levine as she renovates a townhouse in her hometown. While home, she encounters her brother's best friend and the man forbidden to her, Killian Archer. She knows that Killian, her brother, and the men she grew up with are dangerous but that flies out the window when Killian begins to shadow her. Trailing her to her dancing jobs, fussing over her safety in her new home, etc.
I had a couple issues with Killian, mostly how annoying he was with inserting himself into Savannah's projects and business. I like protective men but he seemed overbearing at times. I loved Savannah because she was not afraid to sass him and stood her ground. This is the first book that I've read by Ria and I look forward to reading more!
