I recently finished a book that I had high hopes for, expecting a thrilling suspense story, but was left feeling quite blindsided. While I respect everyone’s right to worship and their beliefs, the heavy focus on religious themes detracted from the overall narrative for me.

The characters spent a significant amount of time praying and seeking protection from the Lord, which felt excessive, especially given that out of 223 pages, I counted the Lord mentioned 63 times and God 76 times. Many pages were dedicated to these themes, and it seemed like over 100 pages were spent in prayer or reflection on faith.

While I appreciate the author's message and their Christian perspective, the sheer frequency of religious references overshadowed the suspenseful elements I was looking for. It ultimately took away from my enjoyment of the story. If you are open to a more faith-driven narrative, you might find value in it, but it wasn't the right fit for me.
