Mildred is a halfling and doesn’t want to marry a prince, but he doesn’t really want to marry her either.
Wasn’t sure about this book after seeing very mixed reviews but I am glad I decided to read it for myself. There were times when I was a little confused as to what was going on or where the story was going next, but overall, it was exactly what I expected from a romantasy story with enemies to lovers, forced marriage, fae royalty and touch her and die vibes.
Mildred, a half-faerie/half-human princess who is forced into an arranged marriage with Atakan. She is intelligent and cunning, learning to navigate the dangerous political landscape while trying to survive the engagement.
Atakan, a Seelie Fae prince who is initially portrayed as heartless and cruel. He is the leader of the Seelie kingdom and has a complicated relationship with Mildred, fuelled by both hatred and a growing attraction.
Vane, the King of the Unseelie Fae, who is at war with the Seelie Fae. Vane is determined to break the Seelie alliance and reclaim his kingdom.
