A fun, quick read!

Nash and Avery are easy to like, so dropping into their lives felt like hanging out with friends. Avery is working hard to be the best guardian she can be for her brother and Nash is trying to find himself. The on-page time they get together is sweet and leaves you wanting more*.

Benji is a nice addition, and while sometimes kids in romance books annoy me, he was the right amount of helpful and getting in the way.

*I do wish we got to see more of Avery and Nash's interactions. I felt like we heard about their connection a lot, and long texting chains, but didn't get to see it, so at times I felt like I didn't understand how close they'd gotten.

I think if we could have seen more of the good rather than so much angst about why they can't be together it would have shown off their character development a bit more. But that's only a negative because I wanted more of those two! I feel like there were probably some super sweet moments we might have missed out on.

Anyway, I also enjoyed that the focus of the sports romance was Nash mentoring Benji. We got to see some sports moments, but it wasn't just obligatory major league action, it was more personal.

Thank you to the author for an ARC, I look forward to reading more of this collection and by this author.
