“In seven days, Jet Mason will be dead.” — yeah… that line alone had me LOCKED IN.
This was such a tense, fast-paced read that hooked me right from the start. Jet is one of those characters who feels a little lost in her own life—always putting things off, always thinking there’s more time… until suddenly there isn’t. After a brutal Halloween attack leaves her with a ticking clock, everything shifts, and watching her piece together the truth while her body is literally failing her? Stressful in the best way.
The concept of solving your own murder is already gripping, but what really pulled me in was how her perspective changes. Everyone becomes a suspect—family, old friends, past relationships—and that constant sense of paranoia kept me flipping pages. I loved the dynamic with Billy too; there’s something really grounding about having that one person in her corner while everything else unravels.
The pacing is tight, the stakes are high, and the tension builds beautifully as the days slip away. I will say I wanted just a bit more depth in certain reveals, but overall this was such an addictive, edge-of-your-seat read.
If you love thrillers with a ticking clock, unreliable trust, and emotional urgency—this one’s definitely worth picking up.

I listened to the audiobook, and it felt a bit YA, but I loved the premise of the story. It was clever, and the twist was very good. I found it a little slow in the middle, but it picked up and tied up nicely. An enjoyable read!
